A few weeks ago, I was experimenting with different ways to advertise and promote my teaching
resources. Since I don’t idle well, am retired, and considering the current state of the world; I definitely had time on my hands. So playing on the laptop has become) my current hobby. I have created and implemented screen- shots, a series of screenshots, taken videos of the resource in action, and so on. They were ok, but not something I wanted to ‘put out there’. Eventually, I landed on recording the screen (displaying the resource to promote) and talking about not only the resource, but how to use it and what it may look like in actual use, not just a screenshot or two from the entire resource.

My hope is that a short video explaining a resource will be more appealing to and capture interest in a way that stands out from the crowd a bit.

 *Directions are based on using a Mac and PowerPoint. The same general premise will work within other         
applications with nuances specific to them. 
  

A. Click Command+shift+5                     B. On That Bar:
 - The cursor will turn into a camera icon              - Click Record Screen
 - A bar appears towards the bottom of              - Click Options 
   your screen choose                     - Be sure Built in Micro  checked

 
C. To get full screen view within PowerPoint:     D. Record/ing
- Choose Slide Show (from the menu bar w/in PPT)            - Click record button
- Choose Play from Current Screen                                   (round black circle, white in -  middle)                                                 
 
E. To stop recording                     F. To find the recording
(w/in PPT - Exit Full Screen)             (w/in PPT - Exit Full Screen and Hide Powerpoint)
- Go to the top of your screen             Recording appears on desktop as SCREEN
